In the digital age, and especially in a post-COVID world, virtual meetings have become the new normal. Conversely, in that same post-COVID world, travel is opening, and restrictions are loosening. People are traveling again.

Just before the COVID-19 pandemic struck in March 2020, the University of Exeter was scheduled to visit Duke’s campus to discuss the partnership between the universities.

Two years, two months, and one 14-hour trip later, those in-person meetings finally took place.

Lisa Roberts, Exeter’s Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive, met with several Duke representatives during her visit, including President Vincent Price.

“INTERNATIONAL PARTNERSHIPS ARE KEY TO ADVANCING RESEARCH”

“We were delighted to host the Vice Chancellor and her delegation,” said Eve Duffy, Associate Vice Provost for Global Affairs. “International partnerships are key to advancing research. During the visit, we discussed past funded projects and looked forward to new collaborations.”
