Education and Research Innovations in China (ERIC)

Pilot funding is available from Duke’s Office of Duke Kunshan University Programs to help faculty develop innovative education and research programs at the Duke Kunshan University campus and other areas in China.

Proposed projects may include other Chinese higher education institutions, but should have a strong focus on Duke Kunshan.

The office is soliciting proposals that focus on China studies; economics, business and finance; environmental studies; humanities and the arts; and public policy. Priority will be given to proposals that focus on the Global Learning Semester undergraduate program at Duke Kunshan, but the office is also encouraging proposals that pertain to graduate and/or professional programs.

Research program proposals might request funds to stimulate research collaborations, support promising China-based research endeavors, or promote professional interactions. Examples of research programs include:

  • Conferences
  • Workshops
  • Professional Training Sessions

Regular rank faculty members and groups of faculty may apply. Collaborators are not required to be regular rank faculty. Click here to see examples of previously funded projects. Proposal guidelines, review criteria and frequently asked questions are available here.
